The proposed intrastate Republic Pipeline is expected to deliver a reliable supply of domestic natural gas from production areas in West Texas to serve consumers in South Texas, Mexico and along the Gulf Coast.

Project Overview

NextEra US Gas Assets, LLC, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy, Inc., is proposing to build, own and operate Republic Pipeline, a natural gas pipeline that is planned to:

— Span 475 miles with a pipeline diameter of up to 42 inches
— Carry approximately 2.0 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d)
— Connect West Texas production areas to South Texas and on to a primary point of delivery

As currently proposed, the new pipeline would require the construction of up to five compressor stations. Additional aboveground facilities proposed for the Republic Pipeline include meter stations, block valves, in-line inspection sites and control facilities.

Needs and Benefits

The proposed Republic Pipeline would help producers deliver natural gas to markets where needed and ultimately provide customers access to a safe, clean and reliable energy source. The pipeline would allow for a combined delivery system for growing natural gas production from the Waha Hub in West Texas to the NextEra Energy-owned Agua Dulce Hub in South Texas to serve demand markets in South Texas, Mexico and along the Gulf Coast.

Pipeline construction is expected to provide economic benefits for communities along the route, including:

— Creating hundreds of construction job opportunities
— Stimulating the creation of indirect jobs associated with goods and services related to pipeline
— Generating additional economic activity for local businesses (e.g., grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, hardware and supply stores) during construction
— Providing annual tax payments to Texas counties the project traverses, once it’s built – money that helps support local schools, roads and essential services

Route Selection and Landowner Discussions

The proposed route is planned to begin in Pecos County, Texas and end in Reeves County, Texas. We take into consideration a number of important factors in determining the route, including:

— Safety
— Environmental sensitivities
— Land-use compatibility
— Economics
— Agriculture
— Archaeological and cultural resources
— Areas of known religious significance
— Location of parks and recreational areas

We also believe in engaging the community and sharing information about the project. We will work to build and maintain positive relationships with landowners through ongoing honest and effective communication. Our team is also committed to continuing that dialogue through development and into operation of the pipeline.

Public Consultation

Republic Pipeline is committed to providing landowners, community members and other stakeholders with opportunities to learn about the pipeline project. Republic Pipeline plans to distribute project information, host a website, provide a toll-free call number, and conduct meetings with stakeholders.

Open Season for Natural Gas Suppliers

In preparation for this project, we are seeking commitments for new capacity on Republic Pipeline. If you are a commercial natural gas producer and are interested in capacity, please see our Open Season packet of information.
